Reptiles

Although we no longer have an exotic specialist working with us (Chris Allison decided the sunnier climes of Australia were just too appealing!) we have left the advice he wrote for us up for reference.

The variety and diversity of reptiles is quite frankly staggering. In general, if the correct husbandry is provided, reptiles will live long and healthy lives. There are no routine vaccinations and worming and mite treatments are generally done only when initially purchased or if any symptoms arise.

Below I have included some basic husbandry sheets for some of the more commonly kept reptiles. The guides are based on a combination of personal experience and knowledge gained from various books and the internet. We strongly recommend you perform thorough research into husbandry, special requirements and adult size before considering buying any reptile as a pet.

Leopard Gecko

Corn Snake (basic care sheet for most colubrids)

Royal/Ball python
